Quarterback Carousal

After week six there has been notable a few of notable changes at the quarterback position. Donovan McNabb was traded to the Washington Redskins after the 2009 season with the Philadelphia Eagles. After just playing 13 games Donovan McNabb was benched for Rex Grossmen. McNabb was benched after 13 games and threw for 275 completions, 3,377, 14 touchdowns, and 15 interceptions. After being benched in Washington, McNabb found himself being shipped to another team when the season was over. McNabb was traded to the Minnesota Vikings and following only six weeks of the 2011 season McNabb is being benched yet again. It was announced by Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier that the rookie quarterback Christian Ponder will get the start this Sunday against the Greenbay Packers. The Vikings drafted Christian Ponder with their first pick in the 2011 NFL draft. Another surprise is Carson Palmer will be getting the start for the Raiders on Sunday against the Chiefs after they acquired him in a trade with Cincinnati. This trade took place after starting quarterback for the Raiders Jason Campbell went down in last weeks game with a broken collarbone. Also this is Jason Campbell's last year on his contract which could mean Carson is here to stay.

Black and Silver

There were a few notable trades that were squeezed in before the deadline on Tuesday october 18, at 4 O'clock p.m. However, none bigger then the Carson Palmer trade from the Cincinnati Bengals to the Oakland Raiders. After a long 2010 season with the Bengals Carson Palmer requested a trade to another team and when owner Mike Brown said we do not deal with the players that are demanding they want, Palmer said he was going to retire. Carson Palmer threw for 362 completions, 3,970 yards, 26 touchdowns, and 20 interceptions in 2010 season. After the season he was denied a trade request and threatened retirement and all offseason he thought he was retired and he was until October 18, when he was traded to the Raiders. The Oakland Raiders are in their first year with their new head coach Hue Jackson, who used to be the wide receiver coach in Cincinnati. Hue Jackson said that "this is the greatest trade in football," which shows that Jackson and Palmer have a great relationship going into this Sunday's game. This Sunday Carson Palmer is expected to start already on the new team against the Kansas City Chiefs. This is the first time Carson Palmer will be playing in a different jersey other then a Cincinnati Bengals jersey since he has been in the NFL. Bye black and orange, hello black and silver.

Still Believing

Even though the Eagles are off to a horrible start I still believe the Eagles can turn this season around. I already said that if the Eagles don't do well in a season it should be this season because then we have the opportunity to get rid of head coach Andy Reid and also would be able to get three amazing draft selections. However this does not mean I want my Eagles to throw in the towel already. I still think they have a great chance and could turn this season around depending on this Sunday's game. Right now the Eagles are sitting at the bottom of the division at 1 and 4 but the Dallas Cowboys are 2 and 2. So if the Eagles win and the Cowboys lose we will be right there with them. Also since we are playing a division game against the Redskins if we win then the skins fall a game down as we go up. We just need to win this Sunday's game and need all of our division rivals lose the Eagles will have the opportunity to catch up.

Eagles Optimism

After the Philadelphia Eagles signed some of the best talent in free agency this off season they were looked at to be a serious Super Bowl contender, but right now the Eagles are sitting at 1 and 4. This has been one of the worst starts to a season for the Eagles. It seems that everyone is jumping ship, however me on the other hand being a true die hard Eagles fan I only see good things for the future of this team. Andy Reid is in his thirteenth season coaching this team and has only brought them to one Super Bowl. After putting out all the money and acquiring all the new talent Eagles owner Jeffery Lurie has made it clear that this is supposed to be our year. I myself am fed up with Andy Reid and think it is time for a new head coach for this organization. So I am thinking positive because if the Eagles have a losing season we will get a new coach and also we will get an amazing first round pick and two amazing picks (one pick was acquired from the Kevin Kolb trade with Arizona) during the second round in the 2012 NFL draft. Also when I watch the Eagles game win or lose, where they are beating themselves with turnovers and missed tackles, the team is really playing well despite the horrible play calling by the coaches. Another hurting us is the stupidest move made by Andy Reid when he moved offensive line coach Juan Castillio to our defensive coordinator. I think he has no clue what he is doing and is one of the main reasons for the Eagles struggles right now. This just shows that Reid must go and can take Juan with him.

Dream Team Nightmare

The Dream Team was living up to it's expectations in week one as they destroyed the St. Louis Rams 31 to 13, however things have been a little different since then. After the St. Louis victory the Eagles went on the road again to face the Atlanta Falcons. This game was a 8:20 primetime Sunday night football game for the return of Michael Vick to the city that once drafted him first overall. The Eagles had a great game but then Vick went down late in the third quarter with a concussion and did not return. After this our defense collapsed and the Falcons ended up winning 31 to 35. Then things only got worse as the Eagles came back to Philly for the home opener against a division rivalry the New York Giants. This game was a disaster for the Eagles defense because of the non-stop missed tackles. They ended up losing to the Giants and the Dream Team's nightmare continued. Then the Eagles faced the San Francisco 49er's at home. The Eagles not only couldn't prevent missing tackles again but the offense just could not get their red zone shit together. Michael Vick had a career high game throwing for 416 yards and running for 78 yards as well but the game was lost by a late fumble by Maclin. Things got worse as they went to play a very good Buffalo Bills team however the Eagles shot themselves in the foot and beat themselves by turning the ball over five times during this game. This week we go to Washington to play another division game against the Redskins.

Dream Team

During the off season as the Philadelphia Eagles continued to acquire very talented free agents, the team as began to acquire a new name, "The Dream Team". The Philadelphia Eagles become known as the Dream Team for the 2011 season after recently added free agent quarterback Vince Young. During an interview Vince Young called the Eagles the Dream Team. The Eagles signed a lot of free agents during the offseason, but no one bigger then free agent cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha from the Oakland Raiders. Asomugha was the most talented player to be a free agent during the off season and was targeted by a lot of teams until the Eagles secretly worked out a deal and stole him from all the rest. The Eagles also acquired cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie from the Arizona Cardinals, by trading quarterback Kevin Kolb. Then they signed defensive end, Jason Babin and defensive tackle both to five-year contracts. The Eagle also signed safety Jarrad Page, Running back Ronnie Brown from Miami Dolphins, and Wide Receiver Steve Smith from the New York Giants. The Eagles continued to sign and release players, until they felt they had the perfect Dream Team.

Buffalo Wins?

The Buffalo Bills beat the New England Patriots for the first time since 2003. The Patriots took an early leading going up twenty-one to nothing against the Bills. Quarterback Tom Brady looked flawless in the first quarter. However by the end of the game it was Young quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick for the Buffalo Bills to lead his team to a victory. In the 2010 NFL regular season Tom Brady threw for a total of only five interceptions and during week three, Brady threw four picks just during the Bills game. One interception made by Drayton Florence was returned for a touchdown. Although being down for most of the game the Buffalo Bills continued to play hard and scored seventeen points in the fourth quarter to win the game. The Buffalo Bills are off to a three and zero start for the first time since I can remember watching football. However they lost to the Cincinnati Bengals by a late field goal in week four and are no longer undefeated team. But the Bills are still considered a top contender in the AFC East division even after falling to three and one. Hopefully they will lose next week as they face my favorite team the Philadelphia Eagles.
